Historical Society Meeting *location change*

June 9, 2025 @ 6:00 pm

The location of our York Township Historical Society meeting on Monday, June 9 has been changed to the Medina District Library to accommodate the technical needs for our speaker. Kathy Kraus has invited Roger Smalley to share his Medina County Underground Railroad presentation with us. There is plenty of seating and we ask that you invite your family and friends to come with you. Since this is an open meeting to the public, we will not have a business meeting, door prizes or refreshments. See below for all the details.

Discover Medina County’s Role in the Underground Railroad

Join us for a compelling evening as historian Roger Smalley presents a richly detailed account of the antislavery movement and the Underground Railroad in Medina County. Drawing from a wide array of local and national sources, Smalley uses maps, photographs and charts to bring this powerful history to life. Learn about the station locations and train conductors in our communities, routes traveled, and the challenging conditions faced by both the passengers and the brave families who offered them refuge. This program is a great educational opportunity for families with school-age children. Admission is free and the event is open to the public. Monday, June 9 at 6:30 PM at the Medina District Library Community Room, 210 South Broadway Street, Medina. Sponsored by the York Township Historical Society.
